MalSyal

An Archfiend of Tharitsia. He popped into my head about a week ago with his background story.

I've got some basic ideas for the guy, but I'm not finding any rules for someone as powerful as him with the books I've got. In short, he's a deamon lord with insane powers. Any ideas out there?

I know he'll be wielding some sort of magical "Soul Whip" which would deal some nifty damage (non lethal ofcourse).

For those who want some spoilers direct from Tharitsia on the Persona, read the spoiler laugh.gif

Origins of species

Elves were a race not much different from humans. However, they seeked to attain goddom, or enlightment, and thus achieve immortality and great power. This wasn't to the liking of the Gods in power.
Elves have long been extinguished, reasons best untold of....

Origins of nature

It is known only to the most educated or illuminated. Life is but a trial. Those who serve the greater powers can achieve more than simply death after life. Followers of Good can see themselves awarded to higher planes of existance, such is the origin of many angels. Followers of Evil may find themselves bound to it for eternity, thus is the damnation of many fiends. Those who attain places of power in these new forms are either refferred to as Semi-Gods if Good, or Mal if Evil.
There is a distinction to be made amongst fiends; devils and deamons. Devils maintain a mostly humanoid shape whereas Deamons are warped by the evil that taints them into mostly any shape. This distinction is one made by scholars though, and it's lines are not always guaranteed....

Origins of persona

During his life, Syal was an elf merchant. He was also one of the most trusted friends of the Elf King. However, it is said in legend that he turned his back on his former kind when they sought enlightement. Thus, it is said that he survived the cataclysme that brought an end, although under a new form - that of a fiend.
Within the closed circles of Fiends, MalSyal grew in power and reputation.

Origins of power

The ultimate currency in the hells is Soul Value. Indeed, many if not most fiends delight in the owning of actual souls. Souls are worth more than life indeed, for it is th very essence that survives life and even death. Souls can be used as a powerful magic catalyser or even as a potion of rejuvenation. Nevertheless, he who owns the Soul Market owns the Hells themselves. MalSyal is one of the most prominent traders of this market. Many a Fiend is more than willing to depart with powers or land for a Soul contracted by MalSyal.

While rummaging through my notes on Tharitsia, I found an old link I had thought useful to keep track of. It's a personality test-like site that tells you your most probable character class and allignement.

Try it biggrin.gif

Hey guys smile.gif

After having finished Stephanous Quaine, ok almost finished, I'm now working on his daughter.
She's got a carrot up her ass, which means in my dialect that she's rock hard on her Loyal Good code of honor and crap.

Thing is though - I hate Paladins.
I opened my trusty Player's Manual, and compared a level 8 Paladin to a level 8 Fighter 4/Cleric 4... and it seems the multiclass character is stronger.
Ok, the Paladin's got a nicer attack bonus, but the multiclass has better saves, and much more appreciable combat and magic skills....

So what I'm asking is this;
> Is the Paladin class really that shoddy?
> Am I missing something?
> Would a multiclass really be a better option for my character?

Eventually, if you guys have any ideas you think'd be interesting for her, I'm always taking biggrin.gif

P.S; Her name's Catleia Quaine, but don't get on her wrong end (like Caihlem always does =D )

Tharitsia

About the author
I've been playing RPG games since ages now and have always wanted to create my own game. Over the years, there have been many projects, including the previous versions of "Tharitsia". As time passed, I've been able to define my gaming style and my expectations towards what kind of game I like and expect.
For the trivial side, "Tharitsia" is a pure invention. However, it apparently closely ressembles the Armanian word for empress "Tsaritsia"

Current Project; World Development - Tharitsia
At the base, the site was supposed to be a RPG Forum Gaming site. However, seen as that the original project fell through, it has now been remodelled. Originally, it was planned to have several Co-Admins, all of which except me decided to retract. The site could have started anyway, but I preferred to propose something realisitic and within my means rather than baffled work that I couldn't handle that'd only tarnish my work and that of my previous colleagues.

The current project is a blog/site for the full development of the medieval-fantasy world. Orginally, the idea was to present the world little by little as the "game" advanced. Seen as the game's been closed, I've devided to take my leisure and develop the world fully and thoroughly. As such, I hope to present my world as a unique model. It will not be a common sight to run into goblins and orcs - let's be clear of this; there won't be any. However, news from the drawing board does mention lycanthropes as a player race as well as other "classics"

Stay tuned for new updates or feel free to come visit my site, eventually drop a suggestion or a remark

Hey all smile.gif

I see you guys have a nice theme going on here. It also seems you've installed some kind of multi-theme package, but with no alternative theme

I've got mr RPG Theme (Scroll of Wisdom) which you can see on my website if you want. This theme is free to use and is made by me with only Gimp, nothing used outside - so there's no legal issues lurking there.
If you want, I can pass you the images and do the adaptation necessary so that you can have this theme here as well for those who'd want it smile.gif
