Hey guys smile.gif

After having finished Stephanous Quaine, ok almost finished, I'm now working on his daughter.
She's got a carrot up her ass, which means in my dialect that she's rock hard on her Loyal Good code of honor and crap.

Thing is though - I hate Paladins.
I opened my trusty Player's Manual, and compared a level 8 Paladin to a level 8 Fighter 4/Cleric 4... and it seems the multiclass character is stronger.
Ok, the Paladin's got a nicer attack bonus, but the multiclass has better saves, and much more appreciable combat and magic skills....

So what I'm asking is this;
> Is the Paladin class really that shoddy?
> Am I missing something?
> Would a multiclass really be a better option for my character?

Eventually, if you guys have any ideas you think'd be interesting for her, I'm always taking biggrin.gif

P.S; Her name's Catleia Quaine, but don't get on her wrong end (like Caihlem always does =D )

Ya the paladin is OK it has its holes. It is a good class to start off at but as soon as you can mullticlass, do so!

This feamle of yours sounds like her diplomacy and bluff skills should be maxed out.

These skills will make her more of a confident B**ch.

Clerics can cast charm type spells? me have to check and so should you.

She's not a figure head in the political world unlike her father, but I suppose I'll max those out anyway for background.

She's more the righteous "protect the weak" type.

I guess my big issue here is because of my personal allignment XD (Neutral strict with a tendancy towards Chaos)

In my opinion, you want to boost her sense motive check. Because if an enemy knows she is kind to the weak then they will use that weakness and try to bluff her. Sense motive will detect that.

I think in the end I'll go for a Cleric/Bard huh.gif

That way I can have her play as wanted, meaning;
> Divine spark
> A touch in arcane magic, which fits the story line better
> Better chances at maxing social skills

Another, side note which wasn't expected is that this way I avoid a certain Lay on Hands and Remove Disease that Paladins have...
Indeed, Caihlem dies of some poisoning, and I don't like stories where promised deaths don't happen - Caihlem dies period ph34r.gif
